International Delphi Study

About this study

The next stage of the project is an international Delphi study. Experts from different professional, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds will be invited to evaluate the proposed items across several structured rounds. The aim is to identify the questions that are most clinically relevant, clearly formulated, diagnostically specific, and suitable for international use.

The goal of this expert survey is to identify approximately 10 core screening items that can be rated on a Likert scale from 0 (Not at all) to 4 (Extremely). The IDDQ is modelled in its structure and logic on the International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ) and closely follows the conceptualization of dissociative disorders as outlined in the ICD-11.

What we are asking of you

We are seeking your expert feedback on a selection of symptom-based items. Your clinical and/or research experience is crucial in evaluating the relevance, clarity, and cross-cultural applicability of these questions.

Each section of the survey features a section title representing a specific aspect of dissociation, the corresponding ICD-11 definition serving as the conceptual basis, brief explanatory texts, and draft screening items proposed for inclusion in the IDDQ.

The survey takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Your contribution will directly support the psychometric quality and international validity of the IDDQ.

Who can take part?

We are inviting professionals with clinical and/or research expertise in dissociative disorders, including psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, and researchers working on dissociation, trauma, and related conditions.

Ethics and confidentiality

The Delphi study has received ethics approval from the MSH Medical School Hamburg (approval no. MSH-2025/87, 15 September 2025). Details on the number of rounds, the study period, and confidentiality will be published here shortly.
